Warn® Winches
Warn offers 8 different winches, with 4 sizes. First, let’s discuss the difference between the RT and XT winches. The XT or Xtreme Terrain winches, have synthetic rope that is just as strong as wire rope. The synthetic rope is lighter and won’t kink. This is a great choice if you plan to use it as a lift for a plow blade.
The RT or Rugged Terrain types have standard wire rope for a more rugged work load. This is a great choice if using it for moving sharp objects that would otherwise sever the synthetic rope.
Now, which winch is right for your Quad or Side by Side? Each winch is rated by its load pulling capacity. The XT 15 and RT 15 are designed for utility ATV’s under 300 cc’s and Sport Quad’s. These 2 winches have 1500 lbs of rated line pull.
The XT 25 and RT 25 winch are designed for utility ATV’s of 300cc’s and larger. These 2 winches have 2500 lbs of rated line pull and are the most popular winches.
The XT 30 and RT 30 winch are designed for utility ATV’s of 500 cc’s and larger. These 2 winches have 3000 lbs of rated line pull.
The XT 40 and RT 40 winch are designed specifically for UTV’s or Side by Side’s. These 2 winches have 4000 lbs of rated line pull that will certainly get the job done!
